Art Walk

Art at the Meadows

Herbert Bayer’s influence across our campus showcases a unified environment – a place where Aspen’s natural setting moves the spirit, where the mind can thrive and art could serve both aesthetic and functional purposes. The best way to see this infusion of art and nature is on our Walking Art Tour. Our self-guided tour map takes you through 31 locations, from installations to buildings, museums, earthworks and more. The architecture and outdoor sculptures remind you of the connected relationship between nature, mind and body as you admire this all-inclusive Bauhaus environment.

Tennis, Pickleball, and Padel

Our on-property Racquet Sports Center includes two hard courts for Tennis as well as six pickleball courts and a brand new Padel court. More advanced players can rent out the court for a competitive match with friends or family. For beginners, reserve a private lesson with the pros to learn how to become a master of the game. Our partnership with Cascades Tennis offers a variety of clinics throughout the summer, including junior programming.

Our wildlife scavenger hunt is perfect for younger adventurers identifying shapes, colors and touch points.  Little explorers who finish the hunt will be rewarded with a sweet prize from our front desk team.

The Resnick Center for Herbert Bayer Studies

Bayer's modernist influence is celebrated across our campus, including The Bayer Center, further honoring his legacy through thoughtful exhibitions, and providing a dedicated space for promoting the continued study of art.

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Aspen Institute, Sculpting the Environment: The Three-Dimensional Art of Herbert Bayer provides the most comprehensive investigation to date of Bayer’s exploration of “the total environment,” or, as he put it in 1970, “the extension of my work into many areas of space.” Focusing on his site-specific outdoor sculptures and land art, this exhibition brings together more than one hundred works by Bayer, including drawings, paintings, photographs, models, and maquettes - many on display for the first time.

Resnick Center for Herbert Bayer Studies is free and open to the public.
